The hotel we are staying at is on 51st %26amp; 8th. We are planning to take the subway one day to Battery Park and another day to Coney Island.

What is the best subway routes to take to get to our desinations?

To get to Battery Park walk to Broadway and 50th Street. Enter the subway and take the #1 train going DOWNTOWN. Get off at the last stop, South Ferry. To exit the train at South Ferry you must be in one of the first five subway cars.

study study study the mta website map and travel advisories and the google map for answers to your questions. if you are traveling during the weekend, there are many diversions you may need to be aware fo to plan other lines to take. i even have both hopstop.com and mtanyc.com email me each friday the list of diversions BEFORE i leave home.

at this point i have a full page of directions all over manhattan.

i just noticed a new feature (?) that will give you taxi fare to your destination should you decide to yellow taxi it......brilliant.......
