Hotel recommendations.

My husband and I are looking for a hotel in NYC to stay late October for a few days. we are lucky enough to have time away from our young children for a few days for a romantic/shopping break. Neither of us have been to New York and I%26#39;m not sure which area would be best to stay. I%26#39;ve been reading so many reviews on trip advisor tonight, but nothing sounds just right. Don%26#39;t mind how small hotel room is but would like it to be clean and near to shops/attractions. My husband likes his luxuries as do I so price not an issue. Can anyone help??

There are many wonderful hotels especially since price isn%26#39;t an issue for you. Also, because NYC is so easy to move around in (it%26#39;s a walking city with a great subway system) that gives you lots to choose from. That said, it just depends on what part of town you would like to be in.

I can only recommend the Affinia Dumont because it%26#39;s the only place we%26#39;ve stayed or wanted to stay. It%26#39;s extremely clean and convenient to the subway, shopping, and major attractions. There are also a lot of restaurants and pubs nearby. If you decide on the Dumont be sure to ask for a room on a high floor with a view of the Chrysler Buildiing..it%26#39;s incredible.

I do know that the Casablanca gets rave reviews from posters on here as does the Library Hotel and the Giraffe. The Sofitel sounds very romantic so that could also be a good one for you.

Best of Luck!

If you want to be in Times Square, I%26#39;d recommend The Algonquin. Rooms are small but elegant and service rocks. In other areas both the Upper West and Upper East Side have good options. A little less elegant but certainly worth the price of the stay.

Look at the Michelangelo on quikbook.com

If price is truly not an option, you could take a high-corner room at the Mandarin overlooking Central Park. The room would have two large windows giving you a spectacular view to gaze down at Central Park%26#39;s autumn foliage. The octail lounge also offers spectacular views.

The experience is certainly one of a kind.
