Metrocard question

Can you use the ';subway'; Metrocard on the bus?? We have used the subway many times and always get a Metrocard, but this time it looks like we will have a least one trip on the city bus. If the card is usable for both modes of transport that would be great.

Thanks

Metrocard question

yes - no problem

Metrocard question

Thanks, I thought so but wanted to be sure.

And, don%26#39;t forget, you can also use it on the Roosevelt Island Tram at Queensboro Bridge.

Yes, as others have said the Metrocard is for the subway and buses. However also worth knowing, is that you can receive free transfers from one to the other, as long as you use the transfer within 2 hours of your 1st metrocard %26#39;swipe%26#39;.

For example, you need to go downtown, then crosstown... you get on the subway at 2pm heading downtown, if between 2 %26amp; 4pm you then transfer to a bus to go crosstown (or for that matter in ANY direction), and you swipe the same card when getting on the bus, you are not charged, the entire trip costs only $2.00 !!! Really great considering the price of cabs...

Here%26#39;s the official Metropolitan Transit Authority / NYC Transit site:

You will find info, schedules, etc via the links.

Hope you have a great time!
