Family of Five

Were a family with three children. We are looking for something over New Year that is very close to Time Square and we are looking at $300-$400 per night. We want something nice like the San Carlos. Any suggestions. Our youngest can actually sleep in the bed with us.

Hi I would look into these hotels

The Residence Inn Marriot - Free breakfast.

Hilton Garden inn or Hiton Times square.

Novotel - few blocks from Times square.

The double tree suites is another popular one is Times square, I am not sure about the $$??

Why do you want to be near Times Square? That%26#39;s a really bad idea imo with small kids at that time of year. Don%26#39;t think you%26#39;re going anywhere near TS for New Year%26#39;s eve unless you want to pay a fortune to sit inside a restaurant with a view. The only suite hotel in/near Times Square is the Doubletree Guest Suites but I%26#39;d guess they%26#39;ll want a fortune.

The Blakely hotel (blakelyhotelny.com) is north of Times Square and has some 1 bedroom suites with 2 double beds and bed for 1 in the living room, but I%26#39;m not sure they%26#39;ll allow 5 to a room. You%26#39;d need to ask them.

thanks for the info. The rooms only allow three and so we would have to get 2 rooms. cant believe how exorbitant hotels are at that time.

A number of the Affinia hotels have rooms that accommodate 5 people with a suite-type situation and a small kitchen set-up (nice for snacks, simple breakfasts and heating up leftovers). You might have to call the hotel directly for that many people.

The group of hotels get good ratings here. Be sure to look at both their ';Afinia Collection'; and ';Affiliate Hotels';

I would also look into embassy suites if you would decide to not stay in times square.

Again, why do you want to be near Times Square at New Year%26#39;s? If it%26#39;s the misguided and wrong idea to see the ball drop, please reconsider.

ragatan: Please check out the Casablanca Hotel.1/2 block from Times Sq. but very quiet and VERY family friendly. We had four of us...one room with 2 double beds adjoining a small living room with a sofa bed. Could sleep 5-6 easily. Best part of hotel is the 2nd floor lounge where they serve continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, wine and cheese, and have newspapers and TV available. Very well located and very comfortable for a family. We paid about $360 a night this past spring.
