Evening (still no rain - a whole day so far)
Coming back over for my birthday in September and was thinking about seeing a show but then I had the genius idea of going to a restaurant/hotel that had live jazz
So tonight%26#39;s question is ...... Where can I go for this ??
Thanks in advance - Matthew
Ps. I%26#39;ll be 35 - no cards, just money thanks
Live Jazzzzzzzzzzz (mmmm nice)
As luck would have it I was poking around today looking for a place to eat next week and came across the Bluesmoke:

MON JULY 9
NEW DIMENSIONS IN LATIN JAZZ: YOSVANY TERRY
Yosvany Terry - saxophones, chekere
Osmany Paredes - piano
Yunior Terry - bass
Pedro Pablo Martinez - vocal. percussion
Mauricio Herrera - percussion, vocals
Jonathan Troncozo - percussion
Felix ';Pupy'; Insua - dance
Those who heard Yosvany Terry on our stage in April with the Gonzalo Rubalcaba quintet will want to reserve early for this auspicious evening. He%26#39;ll bring his own exciting band and a set list that may include tunes from any of his three albums as a leader. The latest, Metamorphosis, ';is made up of all the musical influences that I%26#39;ve experienced since the beginning of my studies in Cuba,'; says the artist, ';combined with my musical growth in New York during the past five years.'; The New York Times calls Yosvany Terry ';a dynamic saxophonist and percussionist [who] chases post-bop ideals without abandoning the pull of his native Cuba.';
Tickets: $15 plus tax
Live Jazzzzzzzzzzz (mmmm nice)
Thanks but that%26#39;s plain scary
Any others folks ??
I don%26#39;t think you can compare a show to going to hear jazz. but....bigapplejazz.com lists most of the venues, some with decent food some not. What kind of jazz do you like?
Jaqui Nalor is wonderful and will be at the Blue Note Sept. 25/26. I wouldn%26#39;t eat there though.
