Recommendaitons on LaGuardia Hotel?

Looking to park and fly for a week in August and want to find a hotel with a shuttle to LaGuardia in a decent neighborhood (we have kids) in that $100-150 range? Is that do-able?

My thoughts exactly - the Pan American. Ask for a renovated room.

hehehehe gonna stick to my guns and say the clarion across the street from lga.

parking is $8 while you have a room there and $15 to park...with shuttle to and from the airport.

regardless of what anyone else says, the clarion is clean, staff is nice and parking is safe and well lit.

stayed there before and really liked it.

for some reason, others here dont.......stay a few days and see if your minds are changed.

panam maybe fine, but neighborhood looked a bit scary.........

I agree with buca on this one. I would not stay at the pan american with my kids.I would stay near the airport at the marriot for that! The area is not good for a first impression with a family.

the only reason i do recommend the clarion is that i have stayed there and believe that the management/owners have updated the property and retrained their employees in hospitality standards since they received a few bad reviews. there was nothing that i could find wrong with the hotel and we were there for a number of days. you cant beat the price (both for the hotel itself and the parking) or the location.

if i remember correctly, the marriott lga doesnt offer park and fly options. however i do agree, the marriott and the crowne plaza down the street are both very nice places, but prices are above what you would expect to pay for airport based hotels. we did have breakfast at each and it was great and the lobbies were fantastic.

anyway, just offering my opinion as i seem to be the only one here who stayed at the clarion and was quite happy with everything about it.

I guess I am not addicted to this forum. Lol. I think that it would be a better option for them where you are saying since you stayed there. Oh well ! I think they will forgive us .They will slap us and like us again later! We always will not agree I guess the key is not to take things to heart. We all have an opinion and are trying to help others! That is where we all agree trying to help others.
