Take a look at the trip planner on www.wunderground.com, you put your dates in and its gives you lots of weather data for those days in the past 6 or so years.

Very useful but obviously doesn%26#39;t predict the future!

I always go in December. Crispy cold, sometimes snowy but always beautiful. Have been in June, very hot and humid with sky dumps of rain in late afternoon.

this might help...

I would pick the beginning of June. The rain possibility is about the same although there are more chance of thunderstorms in July which don%26#39;t usually last too long. Beginning of June has lower temperatures and less humidity and less tourists than July.

The weather here in NY is very unpredictable...I would never plan a trip here based on weather. If you%26#39;re going to NYC, you won%26#39;t even notice the rain or heat because you%26#39;ll constantly be in and out of buildings or under cover. The fall is glorious with mostly drier air and beautiful foliage - that is if you can get out of the shops, museums and shows to enjoy it. Today, for example, it started out humid and warm but at 6 p.m. it is gorgeous, sunny and dry. Just avoid August - your sweat will never dry!

great thanks for the ifo guys i have been to new york twice once in july 05 and it was hot hot hot and then again in march 06 and it was cold and very windy so i have experianced both extremes you could say thanks again
