My Father just celebrated his 85th birthday and has decided to take 2 of his granddaughters to New York, then on to Fort Drum to visit another granddaughter and great-granddaughter, then on to Washington DC.
He has decided that we should rent a car to drive from New York City to Fort Drum, then onto Washington DC. We will not be driving inside the cities of DC and NYC. I will be driving.
Where can/should I rent a car that allows me as little trauma as possible? We are on a budget.

Renting a car in/near New York City
If you are a AAA member, u could check with Hertz as there are some discounts. Enterprise picks you up and drops you back when u return the car. Once we had booked a minivan from Enterprise but we got a SUV instead and had to stuff 7 people inside. Had no problems with them for renting mid size (5 seater) cars though. Dollar and other rentals could be cheaper than the above.
