Transpertation to and from LGA

My husband and I are taking the shuttle from LGA to our hotel, but I%26#39;m not sure how we should plan on getting BACK.

We are flying out on Sunday at 6:15am, so we need to get from St. Marks Place to LGA by 5am at the latest (we don%26#39;t have checked luggage).

Should we take the train and transfer to bus (if so, which one)? Or should we just plan on shelling out for a taxi?

Transpertation to and from LGA

That early I would take a cab! The bus/train will take you at least an hour if not more from there - especially on a Sunday morning when the trains don%26#39;t run as frequently.

But, if you want to do it, get on the N or W at W.8th Street. Take it going Uptown/Queens. Get off at Astoria Boulevard/31st Street. Walk down the stairs and the bus stop is across the street on a little triangle of land (towards BK I believe - there are signs though). Take the M60 to LaGuardia. I think they announce the terminals/airlines but you can always ask the bus driver if you%26#39;re unsure.

If you do it, I would leave AT LEAST an hour and 15 min to get there. Good luck!

Public transportation to and from LGA is very difficult. I would not take the shuttle either because for two it cost about the same as a taxi, takes longer and is unreliable about picking you up. Unless you have already paid for the shuttle take a taxi each way or a car service. I use Carmel. www.carmellimo.com or 1-800-9-CARMEL

taxi for sure!

Are you taking supershuttle from LGA? A cab is just a couple of bucks extra and a lot quicker and more comfortable. Supershuttle cost at least $28 for both of you, Carmel Car service also costs $28, and you get the car to yourself, save time, travel in comfort. You should tip the driver in either case, so the only extra is the toll (if any it is just $4) that you would pay for the car.

Returning you could do the subway/bus thing of just take a car back (Carmel will give you a receipt that has a discount for your return)

PS: I use carmel a lot at my hotel, but the other car services are just as reliable and prices are about the same, try carmel, allstate or dial 7.

Your hotel (and local restaurants and bars) should have recos for car services they use. Ask them.

Also, for such an early ride, call the evening before and make a reservation.

Take a cab. We stayed near St. Marks, and cab with tolls and tip was just $30.00, and only took about 20 minutes. We flew into Laguardia, but out of Newark. Taking public transportation to Newark was a bit of a pain, and took us almost 2 hours from hotel to terminal. Flying into LaGuardia and taking the cab was very easy and fast!

1-800-9-CARMEL all the way!!

We used Carmel to and from LGA to our Manhattan hotel as well as during a 4 hour city sight-seeing/photography tour. Service was top-notch, and you pre-determine your pricing ahead of time so there are no surprises.

Leaving from Manhattan to LGA our Carmel driver Raoul picked us up at 4:30AM on the dot! Enjoy!
