Please help me, I cant find anything???!??!??!

Im going to Ny in August for a week with a group of 5 people so 6 in total. Were all students so we dont really want to spend too much. Hotels seem to be way out of our budget and we cant find any vacation rentals in midtown manhattan. August is coming up and we have nowhere to rest our heads yet. Please can someone tell me where to look? Any advice on how to better our chances of finding something? I dont know what to do anymore, any help would be nice. Our budget is $1200 for the whole week, roughly $200 per person or $240 a night.

Please help me, I cant find anything???!??!??!

Hi Here are some places for travelers on a budget.

Hotel Wolcott

The Riverside Tower hotel - very cheap For new York and states clean request a suite and still have money.

Americana Inn

The skyline hotel

Travel Inn

I would also look into Bedandbreakfast.com for some other ideas of budget accomodations and apt style places.Travel zoo is also an exxellent source for hotel specials and quikbook is good also.

a hostel might be the way to go. For a listing of hostels go to

Your budget is totally unrealistic for NYC for anything other than a hostel. Hostelling International is generally considered the best one in NYC and the website says beds start at $29/night. Info here

Big Apple Hostel is more centrally located and gets decent reviews here and on hostelz.com

I do agree, with the hostels if you can%26#39;t find the Americana or the other two suggested. I was also thinking of ther pod hotel. I think the wolcottt maybe too expensive unless you up the budget.

If you were a smaller group (2-3, maybe 4) Hotwire or Priceline would be a possibility, but 6 definitely wouldn%26#39;t work. What are your dates of travel?

You could maybe stay by Newwark. Or *cough* come to Chicago *cough* (just kidding.)

Anyways, let us know the dates, then myself or one of the NYC experts can help you and your friends lock in a place to stay somewhere around the city or outlying area.

Did you try the Doubletree Times Square? It fit 6 people easily. I got it for $259. last Summer. Try calling instead of booking online. Explain you situation. this place is worth staying by the time you split the costs, if y%26#39;all wanna stay together. I brought 6 Seniors girls after graduation.

It was convenient location, which cost us less in cabs, etc.

Plan to eat cheaply and apply the money to the hotel. You don%26#39;t have to eat at expensive tourist traps because all the food in NY is good.

If y%26#39;all need 2 rooms then try the Hilton GARDEN INN on 8th street.

These rooms have a microwave and fridge you can save leftovers, etc. The prices are low. Have fun!

The doubltree manhattan is even less.

SORRY, I meant the DoubleTree Metropolitan, not Manhattan.

Were staying in August from the 10th-15th. I know the budget is cheap but were travelling from california to canada, then NY and then boston, salem and chicago before going back home. I think we can really do it if we keep to our budget. Hostels do sound good but i dont know if theyll keep us all in the same room?
