Milk Shake in a Metal tin

Yo Dudes,

I know this is a bit weird but my girlfriend wants to have a milkshake out of a metal tin somewhere when we visit in Nov.

Does anyone know any diners that do their shakes in metal tins?

Cheers

Chris

Milk Shake in a Metal tin

That%26#39;s how we used to have them when I was a kid, so you%26#39;d get a glass and a refill. Yummy! Don%26#39;t know if anyone still serves them like that. Perhaps a coffee shop?

Most larger or older diners still serve it that way on a regular basis, and most newer diners that have a ';nostalgia'; or ';1950s authentic'; diner theme, do that, too.

Therefore, your odds are very good that, if you order a chocolate milk shake in a diner, you%26#39;ll get the ';extra'; in a metal mixer.

Especially if you sit at the counter -- where you could also watch it being made...

Many fans of the TV show ';Seinfeld'; make a pilgrimage up to Tom%26#39;s Diner on Broadway and 112th. I used to live in the neighborhood. They make their milkshakes (which are the only reason to actually eat there) in the metal tins. They will generally pour most of the contents into a glass, and then leave the rest next to you in the metal tin, for you to finish at your leisure. As another poster points out, this is especially true if you sit at the counter.

If you do go to Tom%26#39;s for a milkshake, I recommend what they call a Broadway, which is a mocha milkshake (coffee ice cream with chocolate syrup, I believe).

dude, make your way to ellens stardust diner. lots of choices that come in a metal tin.

i dig the one with hot fudge.

Thanks very much everyone. I%26#39;m a big Seinfeld fan so might have to pop down to Tom%26#39;s even if they don%26#39;t do milk shake in a tin.

Cheers

Chris

Brooklyn Diner does it...GemSpa on 9th Street does it...most ice cream parlors do it...I don%26#39;t ';get'; what%26#39;s so special about it, most places that serve milkshakes where I live do it that way - it%26#39;s part of the milkshake machine!

Is the Kiev still around? They did it back in 1983!
