My wife and I arrive in New York on Saturday Dec 15 for 4 days. Can anyone recommend a carol or church service close to the times square area.Would they be all ticket at this time of year?
Christmas Carol ServicesI don%26#39;t think that many churches would arrange their carol services for that early in December, if you wish to attend a sung mass though, a church you may be interested in is St. Mary the Virgin on west 46th street between 6th and 7th avenues, half a block from the centre of Times Square. We stayed in the Comfort Inn next door and didn%26#39;t even know it was there until one day the doors were open and an organist was playing, we went inside to have a look (they%26#39;re very welcoming), and the interior is lovely, tall stained glass windows. They have a website. www.smtvirgin.org.
Here as some of their pictures from last christmas.

I don%26#39;t think a ticket would be required.
There is a calender for all their masses on their site.
Christmas Carol ServicesSt. Thomas on Fifth Ave. is famous for their boys%26#39; choir.

There are some wonderful concerts at that time of year. Here%26#39;s a list from NY Magazine from last year.

nywhiz, thanks for posting the website of St. Thomas Church, it really is a very beautiful building, I%26#39;m something of an anomaly in that I am a non believer but absolutely adore religious buildings and their architecture.
Thank you both for your information. We shall certainly try to attend a service at one of your recommendations.
