Hip/Good/Fun Restaurant for group

I want to take 7 college students- just arriving in NY to dinner without breaking the bank. Any suggestion?

Hip/Good/Fun Restaurant for group

Go to the Village.East or West side. Anywhere around 2nd Ave and 8th Street wil be OK. It%26#39;s a college area. NYU and Cooper Union. Make sure you go to McSorley%26#39;s Tavern. The oldest ale house in NYC. Must be 21. You can look it up on the internet for specifics.

Thanks. They are Freshman so none of them are 21. They are attending NYU and Pace, so I am looking for something outside of those immediate neighborhoods. Someplace they would probably not go to themselves. Good Food-Not too expensive.

Piola is good...(12 and Broadway)

Vynl is very fun! I haven%26#39;t been to the new locations, but the original on 9th Ave and 51st St. is great and affordable. (Except the pad thai is always too salty.)

Thanks everyone for the input. The menu for piola looks great.

Any more ideas?

Ellens Stardust Diner is great fun .The waiting staff are all fabulous singers and take turns singing the songs from all the top shows. Its not expensive either, they have a website where you can read the menu. I cant remember the exact address but its near the david letterman theatre. Cheers!

Just one stop away from the East Village is Sea Thai restaurant in Williamsburg. The food is wonderful, very inexpensive, and the place is lots of fun. There%26#39;s one in Manhattan, too, but the Brooklyn one is ';the'; place to go.
