Great Sandwich Shop

I had lunch for the first today at a Starwich Sandwich Shop. I went to the store at 75th %26amp; Lexington. I had the braised short rib sandwich (named best sandwich in NYC by NY Magazine) on challah bread with balsamic poached red onions and blue cheese - it was simply fantastic.

There are 6 locations in NYC for this Northeast Corridor chain of shops - they have locations in Boston, Philadelphia and D.C. also.

I have never recommended a chain in my life - but this place is the real deal - simply a great sandwich shop.

That sounds delicious, I love challah bread.

Great Sandwich Shop

You%26#39;re an evil man. How am I going to lose weight so I can join Ange for her food binge?

Do they serve fries with that?

Oh my, that menu sounds good. I didn%26#39;t see prices. Was it reasonable?

OMG....that sounds sooooo good!! Another addition to my ';next time'; list!!

My sandwich was $8.95 and it was filling.

Do you think Vic would be impressed though? Are you sure that he wouldn%26#39;t think that it was ';just a big arse sandwich';.

Betinna - no fries with - but a free large plastic cup of ice water with ice cubes and a lid and a straw and free refill ;-)

Bettina not Betinna

Nic, although filling, not to be considered in the ';big arse'; family.

Starwich has gotten into the sandwich game along with others.

I also worked for the Chain Panara Bread. I do not think they have locations in manhattan yet. Talks are there is going to be. Very expensive chain to get into. Talk about awsome bread, they have so many breads and sandwiches, you do not think you are eating chain food. I baked for them for a while. I think the closest is the Bronx right now.I baked at night $3500 bakes per night with me and another lady. The asiago cheese bread is to die for.The asiago roast beef is very good also. These places really try hard to please the public.

Panera has free wireless as long as you buy something. Many reasons to go there
