Duty???

What are the duty guidelines for crossing from Canada to US side? How much are we allowed to spend? What things will we not be able to take over the border?

Duty???

hmmm, I%26#39;m not seeing how to edit a post?

I just wanted to add:

What do we have to declare?

Duty???

Here are the guidelines:

In our experience, as long as you are honest with the customs official, you won%26#39;t have a probelm - one year we brought back a case of wine from the Niagara on the Lake wineries and they just waved us through.

NEVER LIE ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE--they take you r plate when you cross and if they catch you bringing something across that you didnt declare every time you cross the border you will get pulled over. It%26#39;s so not worht it. You can bring over $200 per person for a 48 hour stay duty free. And I think it 450 or 500 if youre here 7 days. When we shop in the states and come back over and if we ever got pulled over duty would be charged as 7% whis is the gst rate. Not sure how it oges the other way. I know you can bring 1 case of beer and 1 bottle of alcohol and a carton of cigarettes back over if your here over 48 hours. I recommend you keep all your reciepts in your hand while crossing the border. We find that we never get pulled over because it shows that we have nothing to hide
