Central Park hotels

Hi - hope somebody can help. Myself and a friend are planning a trip to New York in November time. We%26#39;ve never been before, but those who have been have advised we book a hotel in the Central Park area. Does anybody have any suggestions, or any recommendations about places to stay in this vicinity?

Many thanks.

Central Park hotels

Central Park is HUGE and runs from 59 st to 110 st.

Hotels right near the park tend to be the most expensive (ie Trump International, Ritz Carlton Central Park) so why doh%26#39;t you tell us what your budget is. ;) The Salisbury is a good budget hotel near the south end of Central Park that%26#39;s popular.

I think the Hemsley Park Lane is a nice hotel.

The AKA Central Park just opened. It looks nice, but there%26#39;s on feedback on it yet.

Again, what is your budget? We really can%26#39;t help if we don%26#39;t know that part,. Happy Trails!

Thanks everybody.

I guess our budget is about 拢650 (with flights).

We really want to be in the main touristy area, rather than being stuck somewhere outside the main part.

SOmebody mentioned the Central Park area - what is this area referred to - midtown? getting myself rather confused when I look on the likes of Expedia.

Also, be interested to know of any no-go hotels, which haven%26#39;t got good reputations as will leave these ones well alone!

Thanks.

No worst no go hotels

The Pennsylvania

The Carter

The Ramada New Yorker

hotels near the Javits Center (so any with that name in the title) are not well located.

There is no one main tourist area b/c the sights are all over town much like in London. I%26#39;d say any place in the 40%26#39;s or 50%26#39;s east or west is ideal.

When you give prices in pounds including airfare, there%26#39;s no way to help you. Buying a package can likely get you a lousy hotel. Buy them separately. You also didn%26#39;t say how many days you%26#39;re staying so how can we judge?
