We are going to S%26amp;W on Friday night (6:00 p.m.). I would like to know if there is metered parking or alt side of the street around 3rd ave and 49th street, or, is there really cheap parking garage nearby?

Unlikely you%26#39;ll find street parking. Iconparking.com has several garages in the low 40%26#39;s that are reasonable. The cheapest appears to be on 46 st. b/w 1st %26amp; 2nd--about $9 for the evening. Make sure to print out a reservation so they don%26#39;t charge more.
If you want to see if there%26#39;s anything cheaper try looking on nycgarages.com but you can%26#39;t reserve at other garages.
