Restaurants around Rock Center and Empire SB?

My finace and I are going to NYC for 4 days later this month. Neither of us have been there. We would like to find a nice place to eat on Friday night before we go to the top of the ESB. She wants to get dressed up, have dinner and then see the city at night from above. Somewhere around Rockefeller Center or the ESB. Would prefer around ESB so we can walk to it after dinner. Any suggestion?

You%26#39;d have to take a taxi to my favorite special-occasion place, the beautiful River Cafe, which sits on a barge under the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Spectacular views of the glittering downtown skyling and the bridge, of course. Excellent food too, and so romantic.

There are restaurants in the elegant AOL Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle that have spectacular views. My favorites are Asiate, on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental, which serves exquisite French-Asian cuisine. And I love Cafe Gray, which offers wonderful views of Columbus Circle and Central Park South, though it%26#39;s only on the third floor. I have not been to the other ';view'; restaurants in the building.

Brasserie Ruhlmann, at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, has good food -- and if you like, on a fine evening you can eat outside.
