DEAR KRISTA,

as manager of acra manor hotel,just for the record, (if you had come to the front desk ) to ask about our outdoor pool., we would have told you greene county had (2 MONTHS NON STOP RAIN)PLEASE CHECK THE WEATHER REPORT,this made it utterly impossible to do the 3 weeks maintenance to prepare the pool for memorial wknd.(however our indoor pool was open until 12 am) so guests could swim at their leisure.As far as the chair in front of your room being chained down,reason being so other guests dont move them away from your room(NOT BECAUSE WE THINK YOU WILL STEAL THEM)ONCE AGAIN IF YOU INQUIRED AT THE FRONT DESK WE WOULD HAVE EXPLAINED! KRISTA , ACRA MANOR has been in business for over 60 years,and if someone has any concerns whatsoever, we want them to let us know ,so we can do our best to make their stay enjoyable.

Your pool opens Memorial Day? It must have been an unusual warm front to make it warm enough for that guest to want to get wet then. We go someplace near you and they can%26#39;t even say it%26#39;ll be warm enough to swim for sure till around early July...and sometimes then it%26#39;s cool. Sunning, sure but getting wet can make it feel cooler. I wonder what that guest was thinking? I would have thought the caution tape was a clue that something was being worked on.

Dear Jim:

Please let me set the record straight here. I did go to the front desk to ask about the outdoor pool and hot tub, but the lady there didn%26#39;t have an answer for me.

The indoor pool was very nice and we did enjoy our time there.

The shuttle bus (even with the borken door) to the Irish Fest was a nice touch, and we enjoyed that too.

The breakfast buffet was another plus. The food was actually very good.

The room itself was very dirty.........the phone was so filthy, I didn%26#39;t want to touch it.

Now to answer the know it all from Virginia.................yes, it was very warm the weekend we went to Acra Manor.

We passed a few other hotels/resorts in the area and they all had outdoor pools open with plenty of people in them.

My wife and her family have been going to Acra Manor for over 40 years. When I joined the family in 1991 I did not want to spend my vacation in the mountains, preferring a tropical beach. But with a new family I decided to try it.

Since then, I look forward to spending a week there with my wife and children. My children talk about this place all year round and can%26#39;t wait to get back.

It may not be a five star resort, but I find such comfort in knowing my children are so well cared for by the staff. (Larry , Larry , Larry).

My children are never bored. It is so nice to be able to go somewhere and everyone knows your name (sound familiar).

So, I will be THERE towards the end of August, looking forward to it with anticipation. I confess, I LOVE THAT PLACE.

Hi:

I just wanted to say that my family has been going there for over 25 years and we know we are not getting a beautiful resort. However, the people that run the place are nice and the people that come back every year. We are going on Sunday and it could not come soon enough, my kids have been talking about it all year. I hope Larry is still there.

There must be some reason why people love Acra Manor to keep coming back year after year.
