Swimming Public vs Private...

Spending a day in the Lake George area and I wanted to know if it%26#39;s better to book lodging and use a ';private'; beach... or just use one of the ';public'; beaches for a bit of swimming and clean sand (no boats, scuba etc.)

Also, I was curious is one can catch a movie around the area, or do you have to head into a larger town/city to see something current???

Thanx

Swimming Public vs Private...

I just got back from Lake George and was unable to find a public beach where I could go for a long swim away from the boats.

Swimming Public vs Private...

It%26#39;s the same lake, no difference there. Some public beachs have life guards. Not sure why. The guarded areas are soo shallow you%26#39;d have to knock yourself out to drown. There are some really nice swimming areas and holes, but I can%26#39;t describe how to get there. Ask some locals if you can. Keep in mind that there are a lot of parts of the lake with drop offs. If you aren%26#39;t a good swimmer, good idea to avoid...especially on the east side of LG.

2 movie theaters I can think of. the regal multiplex@aviation mall and aimee%26#39;s movie and dinner in GF. Both area about 15-25 min drive from LG.

Hmmm...

Thanx for the tips, but it sounds like it might be better to look for a nearby lake for better swimming opportunities... maybe Trout Lake???

Just past Great Escape is a drive-in movie theatre, that shows new movies. I went a couple years ago, and it cost $6 per person for a double feature, and the snacks were also inexpensive.
