Arriving with one case and planning on leaving with at least another two, all full! Where would you suggest? Is Macy%26#39;s any good?
Boring question but where to get best deal on suitcase?
TJ Maxx always has some....check their ';Clearance:
Boring question but where to get best deal on suitcase?
I agree - TJ Maxx
Second choice - Century 21
If Macy%26#39;s is having a sale on suitcases, check it out.
Also try Filene%26#39;s Basement or Marshall%26#39;s (outside Manhattan)
Sure macys would work . I would give TJ max a shot as well.
I do not know how you feel about this, but the best deals for suit cases are the thrift shops, sometimes I get real nice ones hardly used. The salvation Army and Good will stores always have some.
Funny we all posted tjmax! I guess we all think alike??
You can get good deals at TJ Maxx or Ross Pay for less type shops.
Macys only if they have a sale on. Note you can get a 11% discount card from customer services for foreign visitors. Bring your passport or drivers licence.
The Loehmanns on 7th Ave at 17th also has a good selection.
And Altman Luggage on Orchard street is the discounter for major brands if you prefer a specific brand instead of the odds and ends the outlets have. They discount Tumi, Briggs%26amp;Reilly, etc.
Macys and Bloomingdales have decent sales too. I%26#39;ve picked up pieces there
We saw some cracking deals at Century 21. Our problem going out there was our luggage weighed a lot (without anything in it) so that doesn%26#39;t help your weight limit. We saw some great lightweight cases in C21 for about $40 but didn%26#39;t fancy taking them with us all day. We ended up getting one from a shop on 7th Ave which was the same kind of deal but $50 (well, $55 but we bartered them down). I think the $10 saved was worth the hassle of going back downtown to get the C21 case.
If you want cheap cheap, we%26#39;re talking 19.99 cheap, they usually sell them where the tourist souvenir shops are around 34th, and up and down 5th Avenue. I can%26#39;t vouch for the quality, but if all you want to do is use it to cart your wares back to England, it would do the trick.
I agree, go to the tourist shops. And bargain with them. You shouldn%26#39;t pay more than $20 for an enormous case. Check with your airline about how much you%26#39;ll have to pay for excess baggage.
We walked past all kinds of touristy souvenir type shops that had them for as low as $7.99. Of course, I%26#39;m not sure they%26#39;d hold up all the way home.
