Taxi is $45 plus tip and toll. Super Shuttle is horrible, unreliable, very time-consuming and frustrating all around. I%26#39;d head up to Grand Central Terminal and take the bus to JFK. Safe, reliable and inexpensive. Check the Port Authority%26#39;s web site for the link. Click on the Ground Transportation option under JFK.

Bettina is right, as always. I will just add that it is easy to get to Grand Central from Lafayette Street; the #6 subway runs under Lafayette and stops at Canal Street, Bleecker Street, and Astor Place.
